Aeon Flux

Animated Character

The animated anti-hero Aeon Flux debuted in 1991 as part of MTV's cartoon series Liquid Television. Created by Peter Chung, Aeon Flux is a female assassin whose futuristic espionage adventures set records for cartoon body counts. Long-legged, wasp-waisted and spidery, she wears a skimpy chastity belt, disregarding its traditional purpose in the extreme. With overtones of fetishism and sado-masochism, Aeon is sexy, cool and often ruthless. The cartoon spawned a 2005 live-action film starring Charlize Theron.

Extra credit: Variety reported in February 2004 that Charlize Theron would be paid $10 million to star in the Aeon Flux feature. Theron followed in the bootsteps of Angelina Jolie, who played animated heroine Lara Croft in two Tomb Raider films.

Ms. Flux joins the less deadly Betty Boop and Jessica Rabbit in our loop on Animated Babes.
