Tom Green Biography

Tom Green's rude, lewd and scatological humor made him a hit with teenage fans in the 1990s. Green began as a stand-up comedian and radio host in Canada; The Tom Green Show, a pop-eyed comedy-variety series, began on Canadian cable television in 1994. The show wound up on MTV in 1999, establishing Green as an international guru of gross-out. Green had a prominent cameo role in the film Road Trip (2000) and directed and starred in the 2001 comedy Freddy Got Fingered. He married actress Drew Barrymore on 7 July 2001, but filed for divorce from her on 17 December of the same year.

Extra credit: In 2000 Green was diagnosed with, and successfully treated for, testicular cancer... Green's Web site says that his influences include David Letterman and Tony Hawk... Green is sometimes compared to fellow MTV comedian Andy Dick, who also appeared in Road Trip.
