Denise Richards was a model-turned-actress when she got her breakthrough role as fresh-faced heartthrob Carmen Ibanez in the sci-fi film Starship Troopers (1997, based on the Robert A. Heinlein book). She then shared a much-talked-about kiss with Neve Campbell in Wild Things (1998) and played Dr. Christmas Jones opposite Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough (1999). Though her career seemed to stall after the turn of the century, Richards has kept in the public eye thanks to her on-again, off-again relationship with actor Charlie Sheen. Her other film roles include Undercover Brother (2002, with Dave Chappelle), Love Actually (2003, starring Hugh Grant), Scary Movie 3 (2003, with Pamela Anderson), and Edmond (2005, with William H. Macy).

Extra credit: Richards and Sheen were married in 2002. Richards filed for divorce from Sheen in March of 2005; after a reconciliation later that year, she again filed for divorce in 2006, and also sought a restraining order against Sheen. Richards and Sheen have two daughters: Sam J (b. 2004) and Lola Rose (b. 2005).
