Jamaican-Canadian actress Gloria Reuben is a former model who made scattered movie and television appearances before landing a plum role as Jeanie Boulet, a brainy physician's assistant on the NBC hit ER. Initially a guest star, by the second season she had joined George Clooney and the rest of the cast. By the time she left the show in 1999 she had earned two Emmy nominations (1997 and 1998). A singer and performer from an early age, in 2000 she went on tour with Tina Turner as a back-up singer. While pursuing a solo singing career, she continues to appear on stage and in TV and film. Her other work includes the feature films Timecop (1994), Nick of Time (1995, starring Johnny Depp) and The Sentinel (2006, starring Michael Douglas), as well as the TV series The Agency (2001-02), 1-800-Missing (2003-04) and Numb3rs (2005). In 2006 she appeared on the New York stage as Condoleezza Rice in Stuff Happens, David Hare's play about the Bush administration's plans to invade Iraq.Extra credit: Reuben studied music theory at the Canadian Royal Conservatory.
