Swayze Has Cancer, Not Dying in Five Weeks
Actor Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer but is "responding well to treatment," according to Reuters.Swayze's publicist refuted claims by The National Enquirer that Swayze had been given five weeks to live.
His doctor, George Fisher, also released a statement saying, in part, "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment so far... All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue."

I caught a pice of thison the news. I find it refreshing to know that Patrick and his wife have been married 32 years and will not allow the disease or the press to take over!
I have been married 31 years. The last 3 of which my husband battled end-stage-liver disease. A year ago he received a liver transplant. WE, together, fought hard and he is now in very good health.
Please, Patrick, keep on fighting! Together you and your wife will come back in 5 years and show them all the power of a good marriage and will!
Bless You and Yours!
I was so upset to hear that Patrick was so ill he is always in my thoughts my heart goes out to him and his wife keep fighting bless you both
I am sorry to hear that the media has him dead before he even got home from the doctor.
I lost my father to pancreatic cancer April 30th 2007, He was alive exactly 5 weeks after the dy he recieved his diagnosis. Although I knew my father was not going to be alive for long, due to the nature of pancreatic cancer being so far advanced by the time it is diagnosed and also that he had the type that grew quickly, I never let him know nor did he ask the docs who long he had. He wanted to spend each day with family, soaking up every moment of time we had to spend, loving, holding, laughing and making amends for times that when he is gone we will be sorry if we didn't. He did the same also. When he left us, there was no remorse, just an empty space where he once was only hours before. Now the space was filled with another type of space, his beautiful memory, and his spirit was all around us. It continues to be so today. I thank God we did not have media to deal with. There is so little time we have with our loved ones as it is, who wants to waste one munite sharing or reading about it on a web page or a news paper. May God surround Patrick and his family with the same love he gave to our family .
Wow -- those are touching comments. Thank you all for sharing them.
