Our new biography of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now live. She is, among other things:

  1. The new U.S. Representative from New York’s 14th District.
  2. At age 28, the youngest woman ever to be elected to the U.S. Congress.
  3. A native of the Bronx who (after age 5) was raised in the northern NYC suburb of Yorktown Heights.
  4. A cum laude graduate of Boston University, with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a minor in Economics.
  5. A former bartender and waitress. Also a former founder of Brook Avenue Press, created to publish books that shine a positive light on the Bronx.
  6. Still paying off her student loans.
  7. A master of Twitter.

She’s a fascinating figure. And frankly, it’s easy to get excited about the Green New Deal that she is promoting as a centerpiece of her early legislative goals. She’s one to watch.
