Les Paul, Electric Guitar Inventor, Has Died

If you listen to rock, pop, blues, or country music, thank Les Paul.

He invented the solid-body electric guitar — the John Deere plow of rock and roll.

Les Paul died today at age 94, of complications from pneumonia. He was also an incredible innovator in multi-track recording, among many other inventions, and he stayed active nearly ’til the end. Here he is last year with Joan Jett at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York.
