Roger Clemens Charged with Lying to Congress

A grand jury has thrown a fastball at the head of Roger Clemens

Clemens, says the grand jury, lied to Congress about steroid use during his testimony before Congress in February 2008.  Clemens (above right) denied under oath that he had used steroids. His former “conditioning” coach, Brian McNamee, swore that Clemens DID use steroids.  Somebody had to be lying. That led to a two-year investigation that ended with the grand jury’s indictment this morning.

Roger Clemens played 24 years in the big leagues and now faces 30 years in the big house.  Assuming the trial lasts into 2011, that would put The Rocket back on the street in 2041, at age 79.
