Teen Activist Malala Yousafzai Recovers and Speaks

Teenager Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban in October of 2012 — because she wants girls to be educated. Now she’s on the mend, and she’s released her first video since the assassination attempt.

Now Malala Yousafzai is 15 years old — a remarkably mature 15 years old — and recovering in a British hospital. She’s still focused on the issue of education, as you can see from her first videos since being shot in the head by Taliban militants:

And here, in the following video, she talks about her surgery, which included titanium cranioplasty and a cochlear implant. Yousafzai downplays her five-hour surgery with a casual naiveté –“It doesn’t seem it was  avery big operation,” she says:
