Dominique Strauss-Kahn Biography (with Photos)

Our biography of Dominique Strauss-Kahn is now live.

He is the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and probable candidate for President of France who, unbelievably, has just been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a Manhattan hotel maid.

The maid told cops Strauss-Kahn was naked when he attacked her as she went to clean his $3,000-a-night room at the Sofitel hotel on W. 44th St. Saturday afternoon, police said.

She said she tried to run away from the randy Frenchman nicknamed “The Great Seducer,” but he chased her down a hallway and yanked her into a bedroom.

Strauss-Kahn was denied bail
today and faces charges that could lead to 25 years in prison, which might make him the first French presidential candidate to serve hard time in
Sing Sing.

It was just two years ago that Dominique Strauss-Kahn posed with world leaders in this group photo at the G-20 Summit in London. That’s him standing at the far left of the second row. One notices now that they put him as far as possible from glamorous Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. Perhaps that was wise.

Some of our photos of Mr. Strauss-Kahn are more Gallic than others.

Just sayin’.

This man could have replaced Nicolas Sarkozy next year as President of France. Indeed, he was “leading by double digits in every poll in recent months.” Instead he’s on Rikers Island, accused of attacking a maid while naked.  Truly a bizarre story.

By the way, about that $3000-a-night hotel room: the IMF now notes that its New York hotel limit is $386 a night, taxes included. Strauss-Kahn, they say, was paying from his own pocket.
