George Clooney PHOTOS Over Time

George Clooney is tipped to be an Oscar nominee for his performance in the new romantic comedy-drama Up In the Air.  Here are some photos of George Clooney over the years.

A photo of George Clooney with his sister Ada, being interviewed by their father Nick Clooney sometime in the 1960s. (Probably about 1968; George Clooney was born in 1961.) Nick Clooney had a lengthy career as a local and national TV personality.
A photo of George Clooney (top center) in the TV show The Facts of Life. The show, a spinoff of the sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, ran from 1979-88 with a coming-and-going cast that included Cloris Leachman (shown at center in this photo) and Molly Ringwald (not shown), among others. Clooney appeared in the supporting role of George Burnett during the 1985-86 season.
A photo of George Clooney in the TV show Baby Talk. Clooney was in the show’s first season (1991-92) as a construction worker who dallied with the single mother of Mickey, the show’s talking baby. The baby was voiced by Tony Danza, and the whole shebang was loosely based on the hit film Look Who’s Talking (1989). Clooney, like most of the cast, was let go after the show’s first season.
A photo of George Clooney in his star-making role as Dr. Douglas Ross in the TV show E.R.  Clooney played the dashing Dr. Ross from 1994 through the 1999 season, then returned to guest star on an episode in the show’s final season in 2009.
A photo of George Clooney as charming bank robber Jack Foley in the 1998 film Out of Sight.  The film starred Clooney and Jennifer Lopez as star-crossed lovers, he a robber and she a U.S. Marshall.  It was directed by Steven Soderbergh and based on a novel by Elmore Leonard.
George Clooney as another convict, this time in the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? He’s shown here at right, with John Turturro (left, as Pete) and Tim Blake Nelson (center, as Delmar).
Here’s a photo of George Clooney as still another criminal in the 2001 heist film Ocean’s Eleven.  Clooney played Danny Ocean, the head of team of crooks who gather to rob a Las Vegas casino.  From left: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon (looking young!), Elliott Gould, and Don Cheadle.  Clooney reprised the role of Danny Ocean in sequels in Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen(2007); all were directed by Steven Soderbergh.
A photo of George Clooney as a troubled space traveler in the under-appreciated 2002 film Solaris.  The futuristic sci-fi film was also directed by Steven Soderbergh.

And finally, a photo of George Clooney with Anna Kendrick in the 2009 movie Up In the Air.  Clooney played a corporate hatchet man in search of 10 million frequent flier miles. (See a review of the movie and of Clooney’s neck.)
