Actor Verne Troyer has died at age 49 of unspecified causes. The Los Angeles Times has a full obituary.

Verne Troyer appeared in 57 different film and TV roles over his 24-year career. Most remember him as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers sequels, but we prefer to remember him in this utterly charming Apple commercial from 2003 with NBA star Yao Ming.

Boy, those guys were naturals.

Verne Troyer’s Facebook page announced his death with a statement that “Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much… Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another.”

Good luck, Mr. Troyer, wherever you are. See our full Verne Troyer biography »
